Five summers ago, a college friend of mine talked me into joining him on a 3,400 mile cross-country cycling trip from San Francisco to Boston. At the time, I had never ridden a bike more than five miles. "Think about all the awesome pictures you will take," was all I needed to hear, and I was sold.

For six weeks, all I had was a bike, two riding outfits, a tent, sleeping bag, and my brother's old Canon DSLR. It was on this crazy adventure that I fell in love with the art of story-telling through pictures.

Since then, my photography has evolved and grown far beyond what I ever would have expected. What began as a hobby has now become a side business to supplement my primary career as a high school English teacher in Illinois.

A few years ago I began to find my niche within the outdoor industry. I have had the privilege of working for incredible companies like Yeti, Sitka Gear, Bridgestone Tires, Tecovas, and other outdoor brands.

When I'm not in the classroom or grading papers, you'll most likely find me in the outdoors with my wife Abby, my camera, and my five-year-old Labrador, Kota.
